This week I decided to lay my clothes out for the entire week on Sunday. That's right, I went through my wardrobe this past Sunday and picked out 5 outfits I wanted to wear to work for the entire week. Not only was this very therapeutic, it was hella convenient! I wake up every morning not having to worry about standing in my closet for 30 minutes thinking to myself what am I going to wear today...it's all right there. Predetermined destiny if you will.

That's kinda what our style is, a predetermined destiny of looks, designers, trends, etc that we are constantly be drawn to. These aren't predetermined in terms of things we don't have control over, but predetermined in a sense that once we determine who we are...we set ourselves up to constantly go through life finding and collecting those things that continuously define the person we defined so long ago. Losing you yet??

Again, another week is dwindling down. Tomorrow's hump day and brings me closer to my road trip to Orlando with my good friend, James. Super excited and need to just pick up a few things to take with me on my trip. Will have to do a post on what I'm bringing with me and the fun DVF weekend bag I'm taking with me. Uber chic, classic, and so perfect!

Happy Tuesday...

I wanted to show you guys this insanely amazing, BEYOND FAB necklace I scored at Chico's. It was only $68 and reflects the growing trend of statement pieces with beads and color that add an extra something to the entire piece. This is very Marni inspired and I'm completely smitten with it. They are truly doing big things over there, the jewelry is completely BANANAS and so affordable.

Wore this to the office on Friday and all of my friends kept saying it looked like I had a ton of watch bands around my neck! Love it! This is truly going to be a go to piece for sure, as the weather continues to rise - there goes my "Summer" knits - I am going to have to find more fun and interesting ways to spruce up the wardrobe.

I do believe I'll be heading back to Chico's soon for a few more pieces...See you there!

Getting dressed at 6am to get to work by 6:30am can sometime be a bit much. I found it quite liberating actually to know that I only had a small window of time to get dressed and dash out the door. No time to dance back and forth in front of the mirror tugging at every sad attempt to look more fashionable, extreme, and daring than my clothes (most anyway) would allow.

Going through my "wardrobe in proceess", as I'm now referring to it, I thought about the Acne AW 2010 collection in Sweden. They did this long over lean look - translation, big, long shirts with slim, skinny bottoms. Perfect! Reached for my recently thrifted Banana Republic shirt, 510 Super Skinny Jeans, and my black Aldo lace ups and viola! Hello, No Nonsense Wednesday!!! The look was completely beyond chic and definitely one I'll be adopting more and more. Finally, another reason to go thrifting again...as if I ever needed a reason.

Can $10 Really Be A Relapse...

Gold Leaf Pin - $2

Blazer - $5

Ok, so I know in my previous post that I was on this whole, save money; Budget, Budget, Budget, and I was only going to spend $50 for the entire month on additions to my wardrobe! Welp, I lasted all but 7 hours before I caved and took a detour into a new thrift store that just opened - all on my way home from work. Damn that commute! Like a Kentucky Derby star, I need those damn blinders to keep my eye on the prize! But can $10 really result in a relapse. Stay with me for a moment.

Yes! I spent over my budget and there's no getting around that. But come on, let's review the purchases.

1. A Classic Wht Bttn Up from Banana Republic for goodness sake! Couldn't pass that up. I'm building a collection of wht button ups and this little baby is #4.

2. This vintage Gold Leaf Pin is the other half to my rose pin! Another great piece for my "well on it's way" curated wardrobe.

3. Finally, this Navy Blazer is very structured and will work amazingly well as a popped collar, rolled sleeve jacket! I LUST a great twofer.

All in all when you break it down, I definitely think my relapse was well worth it! And yes, this $10 is being deducted from the $5o I will have in February to spend. Excuse me while I go be a responsible adult. Boo!!!!

Say hello to my little friend!!! Excuse the Scarface reference - which by the way, I lust everything that Michelle P. wore in that movie. Oh, the dresses, the hair, the...yep, probably the only man who saw Scarface and obsessed over Elvira's costumes. Anywho, I got my new Canon Rebel XS yesterday and am completely obsessed. This is my first "real" camera and I'm totally excited for the possibilities. The images above are just test shots - I'm not real photographer, not yet anyway, so expect a lot more "test shots" as I learn what this baby can really do.

So far, so good! What do you think?

A Rose By Any Other Name...

My mom would always tell me to layer up to stay warm - I wonder if this is what she had in mind. Another cool day in FL and another chance to layer, layer, layer. I bought this vintage rose pin while out thrift exploring with my cousin during the holiday vacay. I rose petaled my layers beginning with my Banana Republic basic crewneck tee - best tee in the world! Uniqlo cardigan, Open Ceremony for Uniqlo zipper cardigan over top of that, all pulled together under my H&M vest; paired with my eternal loves, 510 Super Skinny jeans.

The pin is heavy with a tarnished finish, a reminder of lapels pinched but not forgotten. Because a rose by any other name would still smell so sweet. Don't mind me, just a little Tuesday rambling. Ciao.

Baby It's Cold Out...

Arrived in so called Sunnyside Florida on Saturday and it was 35 degrees out! Definitely not complaining because constant 85+ degree weather can really wear on your spirits when getting dressed in the morning - have you ever tried to wear a cardigan and have to constantly explain that it's a summer cardigan as you sweat off every ounce of confidence you had when you first put it on? Well I do. So, whenever I get a chance to raise from the dead my winter loves, I'm all over it.

First day back to work in 3 weeks - I was on maternity leave (Holiday Vacay). Wearing Banana Republic t-shirt, Levi 510 Super Skinny jeans, White House Black Market Blazer, and Nicole Farhi velvet scarf, underneath my favorite Marc Jacobs oversized sweater. Oh how I love the "Where does he think he is" looks I get from the locals. A constant reminder, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.

This is my favorite Marc Jacobs distressed leather tote that I scored from the NYC Special Items store in the Village. For $45, how could I resist? New wayfarers from Urban Outfitters.

My own personal heroine, Venti Soy Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks! Happy Monday!
